The Saint Paul Winter Carnival has been a St. Paul winter tradition since 1886, and is known as the “Coolest Celebration on Earth™”. This 10-day celebration includes three parades, an outdoor beer festival, a medallion hunt, dogsled race, free and low-cost family activities, snow sculpting, ice sculpture carving and live music. Many of the events are held in Rice Park in the heart of St. Paul. The festival is produced by the Saint Paul Festival and Heritage Foundation, a non-profit membership organization who's mission is to foster a sense of community, pride, belonging and connectedness by celebrating Saint Paul’s unique history and emerging heritage through fun and educational experiences. The festival attracts over 250,000 visitors a year and has an approximately $3.5 – $5 million dollar economic impact to the city of St. Paul and the State of Minnesota.
